Hannah Peel

Hannah Peel is a Northern Irish artist, composer, producer and broadcaster.
Her music often crosses boundaries between electronic, live instrumentation and sound design.
May 2026 saw the release of her new album The Endless Dance with Chinese percussionist
Beibei Wang on Real World Records. Her solo record career includes the shortlisted 2021 Mercury
Music Prize electronic album Fir Wave and the space-themed Mary Casio: Journey to Cassiopeia
from 2017, which connects brain neurons to stars in our solar system, scored for synthesisers and
a 30-piece colliery brass band. It was re-released by Real World Records at the end of 2025.
For her work in soundtracks, her credits include Mubi's 2025 'neo-western' thriller Bring Them Down;
the Netflix film Scoop starring Gillian Anderson and Billie Piper; plus Sky's 7-part sci-fi adaptation
The Midwich Cuckoos, for which she won the Ivor Novello 'Best TV Soundtrack' award in 2023.
The movies Midwinter Break and Saccharine, both scored by Hannah, were released this year
as well as her soundtrack to the documentary film Underland, which is based on the book by Robert
Macfarlane.
Hannah is a regular weekly presenter on the BBC Radio 3 show Night Tracks, highlighting
independent artists and soundtracks.

Winnie Ama

and lyrics with a vibrant blend of pop, disco, and dance. She enjoyed writing poetry as a child and
discovered singing as an adult, culminating in her 2020 artist debut, drawing inspiration from jazz icons like
Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, and Nina Simone.
Since her debut, she has featured as a singer in the Hollywood blockbuster - Supergirl. She also opened for
Macy Gray, Sister Sledge, and Cymande, and was named a BBC Introducing Rising Star, headlining their
Latitude Festival stage. Accolades include RTE2FM’s ‘Rising Artist’ status, a TEDxStormont talk, a Ditto
Music 'Rising Star' gold disk, and being named a 'One to Watch' by The Belfast Telegraph and The Irish
Times. In 2025, she debuted her album ‘DEKA’ at SXSW Texas. In June 2026, she performed songs from her
album as part of the show ‘North Star’, in her first American residency taking place at the Irish Cultural
Centre, off-Broadway in NYC.
Beyond music, Winnie Ama advocates for diversity and inclusion. She was nominated for The National
Diversity Awards - Positive Role Model Award for Gender for her contribution to the ‘Why Not Her?’
movement - campaigning to close the gender gap on national radio in the UK and Ireland. She is also a
qualified Mental Health First Aider and mentors aspiring artists. Additionally, she hosted a weekly radio
show on Colourful Radio and has performed DJ sets at venues like The Southbank Centre, Latitude Festival,
and Electric Picnic.

Kaidi Tatham

Grammy Award winner Kaidi Tatham, living in Bangor, born in Birmingham but originating from Jamaica, is
viewed as one of UK’s finest musicians whose skills range from multi-instrumentalist, writer, and arranger to

Ed Bennett - Biography -
Irish composer Ed Bennett’s music is performed and broadcast in over 30 countries in venues including New
York’s Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, London’s Barbican and South Bank Centres and the Palais des
Beaux Arts in Brussels. Over the last 25 years he has created a substantial body of work for a variety of
contexts including those for the concert hall, opera, dance, installation and film. Recent highlights include
“Psychedelia” for the RTÉ NSO and Thomas Adès, “Ausland” for the BBC Symphony Orchestra and
Reinbert de Leeuw, “Evertything is Connected” for the Crash Ensemble and five critically-acclaimed portrait
discs of his work.
He directs his 10-piece ensemble Decibel, described in The Quietus as “blending the coiled concentration
of the best post-minimalism with the ferocity and dynamic range of thrash metal.” His recent portrait
CD “Psychedelia” was described in the Sunday Times as “ebullient, deeply compelling music” and featured
in the New York Times as one of their recommended releases of 2020, whilst the Guardian described his
work as “unclassifiable, raw-nerve music of huge energy and imagination.”
In 2019 Ed Bennett was awarded the Arts Council of Northern Ireland’s Major Individual Artist Award, the
highest honour awarded to an artist from the region. For his body of creative work he received the
prestigious Leverhulme Prize for Performing Arts and his music has been twice shortlisted for the Ivor
Novello awards. In 2024 he was elected to Aosdána, the affiliation of creative artists in Ireland honouring

Karis Kelly

Karis Kelly (she/they) is an award-winning Northern Irish playwright and screenwriter.
In 2022, Karis was selected as the winner of the Women’s Prize for Playwriting, for their play, Consumed.
They were also the recipient of the Peggy Ramsay Foundation and Film4 Playwright’s Scheme Bursary,
joining The Lyric, Belfast as their writer-in-residence. In 2024, Karis was chosen to be a part of the inaugural
Women in Theatre Lab UK. In 2025, they established Front & Centre, a collective and yearly festival
championing female and non-binary playwrights from the North of Ireland, striving for parity on main
stages. Later that year, they were announced as the winner of the Olwen Wymark Award for encouragement
in new writing.

Carol Moore

Carol Moore has worked in the creative industry in Northern Ireland for over 40 years, working as an actor,
director, filmmaker, writer and drama facilitator. She was a co-founder of Charabanc Theatre Company and
toured nationally and internationally between 1983 -1995. The company created numerous lead roles for
female actors and brought historical and contemporary stories of northern working-class women out of the
shadows. Carol also founded Red Lead Arts with David Custy (2003- 2006) and produced numerous arts/
heritage projects, including the Shipyard Memory Wall. As a freelance actor, Carol has recently been seen in
Steel Magnolias (Lyric Theatre), Mary Ann: The Forgotten Sister (Kabosh) and the musical Group (The
Belfast Ensemble). Other theatre credits include: The Gap Year, Rough Girls, Lovers, Macbeth, Pentecost &
Can’t Forget About You (Lyric Theatre) and Those You Pass on the Street, Belfast by Moonlight, Titans, 1 in
5, Two Roads West, Henry & Harriet (Kabosh). Carol and co-writer, Maggie Cronin, wrote Shrieking Sisters,
about the 1914 violent ‘Votes for Women’ campaign by suffragettes in the north. Her one-woman play The
Experience of Being, was produced by An Grianán Theatre and premiered in the Baby Grand (Grand Opera
House) in 2019, followed by a national tour. The play was written to challenge ageism and the dwindling
power many women experience. On her 60th birthday Cathy should be celebrating but it rapidly goes downhill.

Commissioner. Carol’s film directing career includes the feature, Pumpgirl (2008) by Abbie Spallen and her
short film Gort an gCnámh, adapted from Cathal Ó Searcaigh’s poem, won Best First Time Director at the
Celtic Film Festival (1997). As a NESTA fellow (2003 – 2005), she produced/directed a number of shorts
about cultural diversity in the north. History Unfinished was the Northern Ireland regional winner of the
BAFTA 60 SEC competition, 2008. Carol is currently finishing a final draft of her memoir about the history of
Charabanc Theatre Company.

Ashton

Ashton is a multidisciplinary queer and neurodivergent artist, working in movement, theatre and circus.
Serial beginner in a wide range of skills, and unashamed Jack of many things, Ashton’s creative practice has
taken them in all manner of unexpected directions.
They accidentally fell in love with trapeze whilst trying to navigate a very serious career as an actor. Twelve
countries and several questionable costume choices later, they now work across multiple art-forms, creating
pieces which explore authentic communication and connection, and working to combine text with physical
expression.

Sligo native FRIZ is a visual artist based in Bangor, Co. Down. She works in both digital and traditional
mediums, using a combination of aerosols and acrylics depending on the surface she is using at the time.
Her work explores history, myths and the folklore that shapes the cultural identity of a place. Using these
stories to create a journey of discovery for people as they reconnect with some of their earliest and
formative memories. The medium of murals allow these stories to be presented as part of the fabric of a
place to new generations and told in a contemporary way.
Her work leans towards presenting powerful female characters and explores our connection with the natural
world. Sometimes it is a mirror, sometimes an aspiration.
Friz’s work has been showcased in the UK, Ireland, Argentina, Greece, Brazil, Colombia, Poland, France,
Mexico and Turkey.

Aoibhéann McCann is an Irish actress from the Cooley Peninsula but currently living in Bangor. She is based
between Dublin, Belfast and London. She trained at The Oxford School of Drama, after achieving an honors
degree in French & Sociology from Maynooth University. She works extensively in screen and theatre,
recently winning the Best Actress Award in the Irish Times Theatre Awards 2020 for her role as Blanche
Dubois in "A Streetcar Named Desire”. McCann is also widely recognised for her recurring role as Geraldine
Gilroy in the acclaimed BBC police drama Blue Lights.

Duke Special is the stage name of Peter Wilson, a piano-based Irish singer-songwriter and performer from
Belfast known for his vaudeville-inspired style, theatrical live shows, and breakthrough 2006 album Songs
From the Deep Forest. Peter combines a warm, accented vocal delivery with ragtime/baroque pop piano
and old-fashioned sound elements like 78 RPM gramophones.
Duke Special frequently works with percussionist Chip Bailey ("Temperance Society") using unconventional

Maíre Morrison

Maíre Morrison is a dance artist from and based in Derry. She graduated with a First Class BA (Hons) in
Professional Dance from Dance City in 2023. Since graduating, she has been working as a freelance dance

worked with companies including Maiden Voyage Dance, Fidget Feet Aerial Dance, the National Gallery,
and the Playhouse. Alongside performance work, Maíre facilitates dance classes and workshops within
community settings in Derry, as well as delivering engagement workshops for companies such as Luail and

Ethan Hollan is the frontman of Touzai, an Asian-Irish band hailing from County Down, blending
90s alternative rock and heartfelt lyricism. Touzai takes inspiration from Hollan's personal
experiences. Born and raised in Ireland within a Hong Kong household, Hollan grew up navigatinga dual sense of cultural identity that would later become a strong motivator for the band. With the

Zeynep Bulut is an interdisciplinary scholar and voice and sound theorist. She is the author of Building a
Voice: Sound, Surface, Skin, published by Goldsmiths Press in 2025. Her articles have appeared in various
volumes and journals including The Oxford Handbook of Sound Art, Perspectives of New Music,
Postmodern Culture, and Music and Politics. She is a Senior Lecturer at SARC: Centre for Interdisciplinary
Research in Sound and Music at Queen's University Belfast. She is project lead for the research platform,Music, Arts, Health, and Environment, supported by the Economic and Social Research Council's Impact
Acceleration Account at QUB. Alongside her scholarly work, she has also exhibited sound works, composed
and performed vocal pieces for concert, video, and theatre, and released two singles. Her composer profile

Michael Keeney is a multi-award-winning composer, producer and musician originally from Donegal, now
based in Bangor, Co. Down.
For more than 25 years, he has worked internationally across record production, film, television and
orchestral music, collaborating with a diverse range of artists including Foy Vance, Snow Patrol, Duke
Special, Altan, Beoga, SOAK, Lisa Hannigan, The Darkling Air, Hannah Peel and Villagers, to name just a
few. His music has been performed by ensembles including the Ulster Orchestra, BBC Philharmonic, RTÉ
Concert Orchestra, Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Irish Chamber Orchestra and the National Symphony
Orchestra of Ireland.
Work being released in 2026 includes a BBC commission for the Ulster Orchestra, which will receive its
world premiere at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann in the Ulster Hall, and the score for the forthcoming feature
film You'll Never Believe Who's Dead, composed alongside frequent collaborator Rory Friers and starring an
ensemble cast including Stephen Rea, Peter Claffey, Ruth Codd and Ardal O'Hanlon. He is one half of
songwriting duo - The Darkling Air, who will perform at the Open House Festival on 30 August.

including Netflix, the BBC, Disney, Sky as well as theatres across the UK (and further afield - hello Sydney),

Diona Doherty

As a comedian, actress, writer, theatre producer and voice over artist, Diona Doherty is making waves in the
entertainment world from all angles. She can currently be seen on BBC One / BBC iPlayer’s Blue
Lights playing DI Louise Carrigan.
Diona’s latest show, Get Your Pink Back was met with rave reviews at 2025 Edinburgh Fringe after touring
around the UK. Her 2023 debut tour, Got MILF, had to add extra dates after being on sale for just 5 days
due to phenomenal demand.
Diona joined the long running BBC panel show The Blame Game on BBC One N.I as a series regular and
the only female permanent panelist. She has performed on and hosted Secrets of the Circuit (itvX), and
returned to the BBC New Comedy Awards competition as a judge 2 years after being shortlisted to the N.I
final of The BBC New Comedy Awards (BBC3). She has also guested on Radio 4’s The News Quiz, BBC
Radio Scotland’s Breaking The News, The United Thingdom and is a regular on the Hugo Rifkind Times
radio show.
She guest led an episode of Derry Girls for Ch4/Netflix as KATYA, played one of the leads in three series of
BBC improvised comedy Soft Border Patrol and a reoccurring character in BBC’s Give My Head Peace.
Diona also played the lead in BBC Sounds series What Happens In Ulster, lead cast in 9 seasons of radio
series A Perforated Ulster, as well as appearing in Penance for Ch5, and new comedy pilot Dry Your Eyes for
BBC. Diona has written short BBC film Sh*t Stepmum, a thirty minute radio episode of What Happens In
Ulster and audio play Dani Dives In for The Mac Theatre Belfast.
Diona has had several theatre commissions. Her debut play Bridesmaids Of Northern Ireland sold out 21
dates in theatres around N.I including a week at the Grand Opera House Belfast and is the first debut play
to open on the main stage. Bridesmaids was adapted for UK audiences and toured across summer 2023
hitting 70 dates. Diona’s second play, The Hen Do toured NI in autumn 2023, including a week at the GOH
on the main stage. She has also co-written the adult Christmas shows, Home Malone, for the Waterfront
Hall Belfast in 2021. Her one woman dark comedy play ‘Sunny Side Up’ (written by and starring her) opened
at the Lyric Belfast in 2024.
Diona has also just completed filming the co-lead for COMMITTED, a new rom-com from CBC and BBC
airing early 2027

Katie Richardson

The name Katie Richardson is synonymous with eclectic creative spirit and collaboration. Between her
varied work as an award winning musical director, composer, sound designer, producer and songwriter,
she’s long been at the heart of Ireland’s forward pushing musical community.
She currently makes her own music under the name Hex Hue but has performed, toured and
collaborated with many different acts and artists over the years including choice nominated Pleasure
Beach, Foy Vance, Duke Special as well as supporting artists such as Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds,
Van Morrison, Jesca Hoop, Bell X1, All Saints and many more.
In 2015 she was featured as one of the Irish Times 'Northern Lights' which profiled people changing the
face of Northern Ireland in their particular fields.As well as working as a composer, songwriter and sound designer for many theatre, dance and film
companies Katie also composes for and curates spectacular live, collaborative performances in unique
and beautiful settings.

Down. Her eleventh collection, The Thirteenth Moon, was published by Doire Press, Galway. (April 2026)
In 2019, Moyra received a Major Artist Award from the Arts Council of Northern Ireland.

This exhibition runs until the end of August upstairs at the Court House.
